LITTLETON — A pair of familiar faces were victorious at the Jeffco League boys golf conference opening tournament Monday at Deer Creek Golf Club.
Lakewood senior Jack Castiglia and Green Mountain senior Gabe Goodman — both three-time state qualifiers — won individual titles.

Castiglia claimed the Class 5A Jeffco individual title with a 3-under-par round of 69. The senior racked up eight birdies on his way to victory. Ralston Valley senior Landon Thunell finished six strokes back of Castiglia to finish second in the individual standings.
Ralston Valley did edge Lakewood by a single stroke to take an early edge over the three-time defending 5A Jeffco League team champions. There are five more Jeffco League tournaments remaining.
Goodman took the 4A Jeffco individual crown with a 2-under-par round of 70. The Rams’ top golfer edged Valor junior Jake Welch and Evergreen senior Bridger Tenney by a single stroke. Welch and Tenney both finished with 1-under-par rounds of 71.

Evergreen did take a six-stroke victory over Valor in the team standings. The Cougars finished with a team best 17-over-par. Tenney was joined by teammates Xan Anderson and Nolan Miller in the top-10 in the individual standings.
