With rain and potentially snow coming to Denver during the afternoon on Thursday, the Class 5A boys tennis state championships will now begin at two seperate locations tomorrow.
First-round matches for No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles, No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles will be at Gates Tennis Center. No. 2 doubles, No. 3 doubles and No. 4 doubles will be at Denver Tennis Center (7 outdoor courts) and Denver South High School (6 outdoor courts). Please park at Denver Tennis Park and NOT at Denver South.
Matches will still begin at 9 a.m. At Gates Tennis Center, all No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles players should be ready to play at 8:45 a.m. and will go on immediately (16 courts). At Denver Tennis Park, all No. 2 doubles, as well as the first four No. 3 doubles matches, should be ready to play at 8:30 a.m. and will go on immediately (12 courts used).
Coaches can check in and receive wristbands at either site. They do NOT need to check in first at Gates Tennis Center, and can go directly to Denver Tennis Park.
This altered schedule and use of multiple sites will be for Thursday only. All matches will return to Gates Tennis Center on Friday and Saturday.
