CHSAA Staff Looks Forward to Student Leadership Summits

Over the past couple of weeks, the CHSAA office has been buzzing.

You will find members of the staff working hard as they prepare for season-ending championships in everything from golf to gymnastics to football. The end of fall season sports has begun. Trophies, medals, and supplies for championship sites are being inspected, packed, and prepared for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to our fall sports.

With that in mind, the staff has also been buzzing with excitement for the start of our student leadership summits.

This year, CHSAA has moved away from the singular student leadership event that it used to host (Fall Conference), in an effort to bring student leadership activities to more schools throughout the state. In talking with the CHSAA Commissioner, Rhonda Branford-Green, she stated, “The summits are offered at host schools in different regions of the state because we have found that it allows for us to reach more students.”

For schools looking to attend a summit, they can choose from three host sites, with dates anywhere from mid-October through mid-November. Schools can register by contacting Sandra Williamson (swilliamson@chsaa.org) at the CHSAA office.

Host sites and dates:

  • Palisade High School- 10/15
  • Limon High School- 10/29
  • Overland High School- 11/13

With the excitement of the CHSAA staff, gracious host site coordinators and building administrators, and student leaders who are looking to showcase the best of what their school  is about, this is going to be another  great year for Colorado student leaders and advisers to learn and grow together.

If you are interested in hosting a future Summit, contact Assistant Commissioner Rashaan Davis (rdavis@chsaa.org).
