The Montrose Red Hawks (2-7) boys soccer team faced the No. 1 Durango Demons (10-0) in a Southwest League game Saturday, Sept. 24. The Demons won, 5-1.
Teryk Webber scored one goal, while Micah Stahl had two goals. Cedar Newman had one goal and one assist. Walter Krull had one goal. Davis Cameron had one assist. Nik Korte had two assists and Pol Cavaller had one assist. Quincy Cooling had the goal for the Red Hawks.
“It was a great physical battle,” Durago coach Danny Suits said. “We did very well to stay composed and finish our chances efficiently. Solid performance up and down in the first half.”
“I feel my team played hard the whole game and had some great opportunities to score,” Montrose coach Cassie Snyder said. “We never quit. We really just need to clean up the defensive errors in front of our goal, and this is something we will continue to work on. We are focused on growing and will keep getting better.”
