CHSAA recognizes volleyball hall of fame members at state

Saturday night was a great night for the state volleyball championships, it also served as a perfect night to recognize CHSAA Hall of Fame volleyball members and two of its newest inductees.

Prior to the start of the evening’s championships, CHSAA recognized current Hall of Fame members Jayne Gibson-McHugh (1991), Joan Powell (2008), Terri Ward (2018), and TR Ellis (2022). Also recognized were the newest members of the Hall of Fame, Rene Aafedt (Valley) and Sally Moos (Cherry Creek).

CHSAA associate commissioner Bethany Brookens called the recognition “inspirational.”

Brookens went on to say, “To see the recognition of these women, who are all leaders and truly pioneers in this sport is inspirational. They are leading the way and serving as great role models to our current coaches and student athletes.”

The CHSAA Hall of Fame is looking forward to recognizing current members and its incoming class at state championships throughout the year.
