1A baseball: No. 4 Flatirons, No. 6 Haxtun to meet for state championship Friday at 10 a.m.

LAKEWOOD – Due to a lightning delay between the two semifinal games on Thursday, the second semifinal game between Akron and Haxtun was delayed, forcing the 1A baseball state championship game to be moved to Friday at 10 a.m. The game will be played at All Star Park and all tickets from today will be honored.

In the first game, the fourth-seeded Flatirons Academy used extra innings to knock off top-seeded Holly, 9-5. The second game was just as close, as No. 6 Haktun upset No. 2 Akron, 2-1, to advance to the championship game.
