AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association will host its 2023 National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Sponsor Conference on Friday, Sept. 29 at the Cherry Creek School District’s Fremont Building. The last day to register is today, Wednesday, Sept. 27.
The conference, open to all NHS and NJHS sponsors and building leaders, is designed to help advisors be in the know about national scholarship opportunities, and the work that the NHS and NJHS are doing. It’s also an opportunity to network with other advisors, learn about the bylaws, discipline and dismissal procedures and hear about opportunities that the Colorado Department of Education offers to students who are looking to get into teaching.
“It’s important to note that most of the students in Colorado who take part in CHSAA-sponsored activities also participate in the National Honor Society,” said Rashaan Davis, the CHSAA Assistant Commissioner overseeing activities. “Sponsoring the NHS and NJHS conference is a great way for us to continue to provide opportunities for students to have access, opportunity and voice as they work to build a great culture and climate at their schools.”
A finalized schedule for the conference will be announced in early September. To register for the conference or to access the link to reserve a hotel room, please fill out this form.
