AURORA – Play begins in the 16-person brackets for the 2023 Boys Tennis Individual State Championships today. The 5A tournament will be played at Denver City Park and the 4A championship will take place at Pueblo City Park. Play begins at 9 a.m. every day.

Thursday’s play will begin with first and quarterfinal round matches, while Friday will be semifinals and then Saturday will be the championship and playbacks.
Playbacks (consolation matches) occur when the player/team that you lose to advances to the finals. After the semifinals (9 am Friday), playbacks will immediately begin. The player/team who lost to the player/team advancing to the finals will play the first round of playbacks immediately upon the conclusion of the semifinals. The winner of the first round of playbacks will then play the loser of the semifinal match. Ultimately, the playback winners will compete for third and fourth place on Saturday morning.
Individuals qualified for the state tournament bracket through their performances at regionals. The first-place and second-place finishers from every regional automatically qualified for the state tournament.
