4A Football: Week 2 Playoff Results

AURORA – Week 2 of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 4A Football Playoffs for the 2023 State Championships are now completed. Live scores can be found on MaxPreps and select games will be streamed on the NFHS Network.

Saturday Results

During Saturday’s action in CHSAA’s 4A Football Playoffs, No. 8 Heritage secured their spot in the quarterfinals by defeating No. 9 Golden 31-18. They will play No. 1 Palmer Ridge in the next round.

Meanwhile, No. 4 Broomfield won a well-fought game against No. 13 Fruita Monument, 30-14, thanks to a late rushing touchdown that put the game out of reach late. Broomfield will meet No. 5 Mesa Ridge in the next round.

Finally, in the last game of the day, No. 3 Montrose defeated No. 14 Pueblo West, 35-28, and will play No. 11 Windsor next.

Friday Results

The second week in CHSAA’s 4A Football Playoffs started Friday night, with No. 7 Dakota Ridge hosting No. 10 Thomas Jefferson. Dakota Ridge won 52-28, staving off a 14-point fourth quarter from Thomas Jefferson in order to secure the win. Dakota Ridge play No. 2 Erie in the next round, after Erie had a stellar 52-0 victory over No. 15 Rampart.

As the sun began to set, No. 11 Windsor faced No. 6 Ponderosa and secured a huge 38-21 upset over the Mustangs. Their opponent in the quarterfinals will be the winner of Saturday afternoon’s game between Montrose and Pueblo West.

On the other half of the bracket top seed Palmer Ridge dispatched No. 17 Denver South 42-6, as their defense allowed only one scoring drive to the Ravens. They will play the winner of tomorrow’s Golden vs. Heritage game.

No. 5 Mesa Ridge played host to No. 12 Loveland and lit up the scoreboard, winning 57-7 and earning a spot in the quarterfinals, where they’ll play the winner of the Broomfield vs. Fruita Monument game.
