AURORA – The matchups for the final round of the 2024 Baseball State Championships for 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A are now set, with the championship game(s) being played tomorrow at four sites across the state.

5A Championship at All-Star Park in Denver

- Third Consolation Round (Friday, May 31)
- No. 16 Grandview defeats No. 8 Prairie View, 6-1
- Fourth Consolation Round (Friday, May 31)
- No. 5 Cherry Creek defeats No. 16 Grandview, 11-9
- Championship Round (Saturday, June 1)
- Game 1 – No. 5 Cherry Creek defeats No. 2 Regis Jesuit, 11-1
- Game 2 – No. 5 Cherry Creek defeats No. 2 Regis Jesuit, 5-2
Last weekend, No. 2 Regis Jesuit clinched its spot in Saturday’s championship game. No. 5 Cherry Creek reached the championship by defeating Grandview on Friday. All games will be played at All-Star Park in Denver.

No. 2 Denver Christian secured its spot in the 2A finals and the second spot will go to No. 1 Limon. All games will be played at CSU Pueblo’s Rawlins Field in Pueblo.

5A Championship Teams
- No. 2 Regis Jesuit will be looking to win its fourth baseball state championship and first since 2019. The Raiders will next play in the state title game after beating No. 7 Fort Collins, 3-1, No. 11 Cherokee Trail, 3-0, and No. 5 Cherry Creek, 3-0.
- No. 5 Cherry Creek would be looking for its ninth state title in baseball and first since 2012. The Bruins are tied for the third-most state championships in state history and hold the most of any 5A team. Cherry Creek opened the state tournament with wins over No. 13 Chaparral, 8-0, and No. 16 Grandview, 4-1, before falling to No. 2 Regis Jesuit, 3-0. Cherry Creek bounced back on Friday, defeating No. 16 Grandview 11-9 in the rematch between the two programs. The Bruins will need to defeat Regis Jesuit twice to capture the state title.
4A Championship Teams
- No. 5 Holy Family will advance directly to Saturday’s championship game where it will be looking for its fourth baseball championship and its first at the 4A level. The Tigers won three titles in a five-year span, defeating Eaton in 2010, 2013 and 2014, before moving up to 4A. Holy Family has run undefeated through the state tournament with wins over No. 4 Palisade, 7-3, top-seeded Windsor, 9-4, and No. 6 Falcon, 11-6.
- No. 3 Pueblo County will look to keep its hot streak alive as it makes a run for its first-ever baseball state championship. The Hornets are looking to advance through the consolation bracket as they fell to No. 6 Falcon, 5-4, in the opening game of the state tournament. They’ve since rebounded in the consolation bracket with a 10-0 win over No. 7 Lewis-Palmer before upsetting top-seeded Windsor, 17-15 to advance to the third round consolation where they defeated No. 2 Golden, 3-0. Then, in their fourth round consolation game the red-hot Hornets kept rolling, beating No. 6 Falcon, 5-3. They now must beat No. 5 Holy Family twice to claim the state title.
3A Championship Teams
- No. 1 Eaton would stretch its streak to four-straight state championships with a victory, as the Reds – winners of more state championships than any other school in state history with 15 titles – have won each of the last three state championships. The Reds opened this year’s state tournament with a 6-5 win over No. 8 Forge Christian before defeating No. 5 Coal Ridge, 14-4, and No. 3 University, 2-0.
- No. 3 University is looking to avenge championship game losses to Eaton each of the last two years and win its first state title since it won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019. Overall, University has won five state titles in baseball, with the first coming in 1982. This year, the Bulldogs secured wins over No. 6 Colorado Academy, 5-2, and No. 2 Berthoud, 6-4, before falling to No. 1 Eaton, 2-0, in the semifinals. In the consolation bracket, University defeated No. 4 Resurrection Christian, 9-4 to advance to the championship round. There, University will need to beat Eaton twice to win the title.
2A Championship Teams
- No. 2 Denver Christian is looking to defend its title from a year ago and win its fourth state title in baseball, as the Thunder also won state in 1996 and 2013. Denver Christian has cruised through the tournament so far, picking up wins over No. 7 Monte Vista, 4-1, No. 11 Dayspring Christian, 11-2, and No. 12 Lyons, 6-2, to advance to next Saturday’s Championship Game.
- No. 1 Limon, playing through the consolation bracket, is searching for its fifth overall title and third in the last four years, as it captured state championships in 2021 and 2022. The Badgers opened the state tournament with a 17-7 win over No. 8 Buena Vista – the same team it’ll face in its next game – before falling to No. 12 Lyons, 5-1. In the second-round consolation game, Limon defeated No. 3 Las Animas, 2-1.Then, in Friday’s action, the Badgers beat No. 8 Buena Vista, 4-3, and No. 12 Lyons, 8-3. They’ll have to defeat No. 2 Denver Christian twice to earn the 2A state championship.
