By Mike Krueger, CHSAA Commissioner
As we bring the 2023-24 school year to a close, I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) will be piloting a program that will allow us to open an office on the western slope. This initiative is a significant step forward in our commitment to better serve our member schools in this region.
As part of this pilot program, Assistant Commissioner Michael Book will be relocating to the western slope. Michael’s move is a critical component of our strategy to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our services. By having him based locally, we can ensure that schools on the western slope receive the support they need in a more direct and timely manner.
Our new satellite office will be located in Grand Junction, Colorado. This office will serve schools across the central and western parts of the state, providing them with the same level of service and support that we have always offered. The difference now is that we will have a dedicated presence in the region, which we believe will make a substantial impact.
The CHSAA intends to continue serving and supporting our western slope member schools just like we always have. This new office is simply an extension of our ongoing efforts to be more accessible and responsive to the needs of all our schools. We believe that having someone on the ground will enhance our ability to provide the necessary support and resources more efficiently.
I look forward to seeing the positive changes this new office will bring and am confident that it will greatly benefit our member schools on the western slope and our membership as a whole. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this new chapter.
Warm regards,
Mike
