Wrap Up: CHSAA Student Leadership Summer Camp

GRAND JUNCTION – The Colorado High School Activities Association wrapped up its Student Leadership Summer Camp at Colorado Mesa University on Thursday. This year’s event was themed True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership, which challenged students to find their “True North” – who they are – and their “North Star” – their leadership purpose.

The four-day summer camp saw 275 student leaders from across the state come together on a college campus to work on their leadership skills, including improving their interpersonal skills and becoming more compassionate and understanding of others. Workshops were focused on inclusive leadership, leading in crisis, being a moral leader, empowering others and navigating today’s challenges.

This year’s keynote speaker was Jostens Renaissance Education’s Dr. Phil Campbell, better known as PC, with Make-A-Wish Colorado on site presenting workshops and providing an information booth.

In addition to workshops, campus tours, speakers, team-building activities, council meetings, presentations and more, this leadership event was where the 2024-25 State Representatives took reign of their responsibilities for the upcoming year.
