Fall Sports Officially Begin Across Colorado

AURORA – Practice for all fall sports – aside from boys golf – can begin today, meaning the 2024-25 calendar is officially in full swing for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA). The first practice for boys golf was allowed to take place last Monday with the first scrimmage/contest this past Thursday, while the esports preseason will begin on Monday, Sept. 9.

The first scrimmage and/or contest for softball and boys tennis can take place this Thursday, with the first scrimmage for cross country, field hockey, flag football, gymnastics, boys soccer, spirit, girls volleyball and unified bowling being Saturday. The first contest for flag football can also be on Saturday, with the first contest for those other fall sports being Thursday, Aug. 22.

For Football, the first scrimmage and/or contests can be Thursday, Aug. 22.

Fall postseason competition will take place throughout the months of October, November and December, beginning with the boys golf state championships on Monday, Oct. 7, and concluding with the spirit state championships on Saturday, Dec 14. CHSAA will host championships in boys golf, boys tennis, softball, cross country, flag football, field hockey, gymnastics, girls volleyball, boys soccer, unified bowling, football, esports, and spirit this fall.
