AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association has announced the 16-person brackets for the 4A and 5A Boys Tennis Individual State Championships. Both tournaments will begin this Thursday.
Due to inclement weather and rain forecasted for Pueblo, the 4A tournament has been modified into a two-day tournament, with the finals matches taking place on Friday instead of Saturday. Thursday’s schedule will remain the same with first and quarterfinal round matches. Friday will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the semifinal round, followed by playbacks, the finals matches and the third-place matches.
The 5A tournament will remain a three-day tournament. On Thursday, play will take place at both Denver Tennis Park (all singles matches and No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches) and Denver South High School (No. 3 and No. 4 doubles matches). The first day will feature the first and quarterfinal round matches, with Friday featuring the semifinal matches and first and second round playbacks and Saturday the finals and third-place matches. Play will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. A live stream will be available for matches at Denver Tennis Park.
Individuals qualified for the state tournament bracket through their performances at regionals. The first-place and second-place finishers from every regional automatically qualified for the state tournament.
