AURORA – Mountain Range and Niwot won the Mountain Range Regional Gymnastics Championships Thursday night at Mountain Range High School. With a team score of 184.900, Mountain Range topped the 5A leaderboard, while Niwot captured the 4A title with a team score of 180.025.
5A RECAP

Mountain Range captured the 5A regional championship with a score of 184.900, while Ponderosa was second with 171.750 points, Chatfield third with 171.350 points, Denver East fourth with 163.475 points and Lakewood fifth with 161.875 points.
Individually, Mountain Range’s Frankie MacAskill dominated, winning all four individual events to secure the individual all-around title with 39.30 points. Denver East’s Lyla Allman finished second in the all-around with 37.20 points and Mountain Range rounded out the top-five after that with Rachel Price finishing third with 37.08 points, Annabelle Maier finishing fourth with 36.23 points and Ella Mikolajewski finishing fifth with 36.10 points.
Allman placed top-five in all four individual events, taking second on beam (9.500) and bars (9.200), fourth on vault (9.250) and fifth on floor (9.250). Price was also among the top-five in all four events, taking second on vault (9.425), tying for third on beam (9.325) and floor (9.400) and fifth on bars (8.925).
Maier finished second to MacAskill on floor, scoring 9.425 points, while Mikolajewski was fourth on floor with 9.325 points.
On vault, Ponderosa’s Maya Sala took third with 9.375 points and Mikolajewski took fifth with 9.050 points. On bars, Mountain Range’s Sylvie Frisbie was third (9.125) and Ponderosa’s Addie Paschal was fourth (9.000).
Rounding out the top-five on beam was Chatfield’s Marcela Gonzalez, who tied for third (9.325), and Mountain Range’s Kaia Chapman in fifth (9.275).
4A RECAP

Niwot captured the 4A regional championship with a score of 180.025, while Palmer Ridge took second with 170.950 points. Pueblo Central finished third with 165.725 points, Bear Creek was fourth with 155.225 points and Alamosa was fifth with 152.600 points.
Niwot’s Genevieve Saunders claimed the individual all-around title after winning vault (9.400), beam (9.350) and bars (8.925), and finishing second on floor (9.375). She accumulated 37.05 points, total.
Palmer Ridge’s Kaitlin McArthur finished second in the individual all-around with 36.70 points, while teammates Katherine Egbert (34.20) and Braelynn Marr (34.15) took third and fourth, respectively. Pueblo Central’s Lily Nilbert finished fifth with 33.95 points.
McArthur placed in the top five of all four events, winning the floor exercise with 9.425 points and finishing second on vault with 9.275 points. She also placed tied for third with Niwot’s Sienna Wood on bars (8.800) and tied with Marr for third on beam (9.200).
Niwot’s Maeve Flentie took on bars (8.900) and beam (9.250), while she tied for third with teammate Kylee Schlepp on floor (9.200). Schlepp also finished tied for fourth with teammate Isabella Foster on vault with 9.050 points.
Pueblo Central’s Karlee Knabenshue rounded out the top-five on floor, finishing fifth with 9.150 points and also nabbed third on vault (9.075). Bear Creek’s Myranda MacMillan claimed fifth on bars with 8.775 points and Niwot’s Lilly O’Neill finished fifth on beam with 9.175 points.
