AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association is delaying the start of today’s 4A Speech and Debate State Championships by two hours due to participating schools being on a delayed start and slick and snow covered roads this morning.
This decision is in line with the CHSAA member bylaw relative to inclement weather. Schools are encouraged to make sure they’re following district guidelines and putting student participant safety first.
Registration will now be at 12:30 p.m., with the mandatory coaches and students meeting at 1 p.m. Competition will begin at 1:45 p.m. The rest of the schedule is tentative, as times may be adjusted in order to get events completed earlier. Saturday’s events are still scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
