PUEBLO — The opening games of CHSAA’s 2A State Baseball Tournament took place Friday.
No. 7 Platte Valley knocked off No. 2 Dayspring Christian Academy 4-1 and No. 3 Fowler 2-1 to move into a 2 p.m. semifinal Saturday against No. 1 Forge Christian. (Saturday’s starting times have been moved up 30 minutes due to expected incoming weather.)
Forge Christian defeated No. 8 Monte Vista 10-5 and No. 5 Highland 9-1 to reach the semifinals.
The double elimination tournament continues Saturday with elimination games at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Four teams will be eliminated Saturday, and the remaining four teams will advance to play again next weekend, with games May 30 and May 31.
