AURORA – All fall sports are officially underway today, with the first practices for cross country, field hockey, flag football, gymnastics, boys soccer, softball, spirit, boys tennis, unified bowling and girls volleyball starting. Practices for boys golf and football started last Monday.
The first scrimmage and/or contest date for boys tennis can be on Thursday, Aug. 14. The regular season will end on Thursday, Oct. 2 with individual regionals scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 9-11, and the state championships Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 16-18. The dual team tennis tournament will kickoff with the first round on Wednesday, Oct. 1 and conclude with the team championship on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Softball can also begin scrimmages and/or contests on Thursday, Aug. 14, with teams playing 23 games throughout the regular season. The regular season will end on Saturday, Oct. 11, with regionals taking place on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18. The Softball State Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25.
All other sports can start scrimmages on Saturday, Aug. 16, with flag football also starting its games that day. There are 15 games allowed throughout the flag football regular season, which ends on Saturday, Oct. 11. The second-ever state championship games will be played on Saturday, Oct. 25.
All other sports can begin contests on Thursday, Aug. 21.
Cross country runners can complete in up to 11 meets throughout the regular season with regionals scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 23-25, prior to the state meet on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The field hockey regular season will consist of 15 games and will conclude on Thursday, Oct. 23. Playoffs will begin on Monday, Oct. 27 and conclude with the state finals on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Regular-season gymnastics meets will conclude on Saturday. Oct. 18, with regionals slated for Thursday, Oct. 30 through Saturday, Nov. 1. The state championships will take place on Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 6-8.
The boys soccer regular season will consist of 15 games and will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 25. The Boys Soccer State Championships are slated for Saturday, Nov. 15.
Unified bowling will consist of 10 regular season contests, followed by regionals Wednesday though Friday, Nov. 12-14, and the state championship on Friday, Nov. 21.
Girls volleyball will conclude its 23-match regular season on Saturday, Nov. 1. Regionals will be completed by Saturday, Nov. 8 with the state championship running Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 13-15.
Finally, spirit will conclude the fall season slate with its state championship running Thursday though Saturday, Dec. 11-13.
