Make-A-Wish Colorado hosts open house

On Tuesday, Make-A-Wish Colorado opened their doors to share their newly remodeled office space.

Members of the Make-A-Wish Colorado staff shared stories of the organization’s mission, the history of the organization, and many of the successes they have experienced along the way. Guests were given tours of the facility, an opportunity to talk with Wish Kids, and to hear from volunteers and staff members.

Associate commissioner Bethany Brookens was in awe of the organization’s mission, vision, and staff at the Make-A-Wish Colorado office.

“It was inspirational to meet some of the Wish recipients and to hear how impactful sports and activities at their high school were to them,” Brookens said.

Taking in the upgraded technology, new furniture and the Make-A-Wish Colorado logo wall in the large meeting space, assistant commissioner Rashaan Davis said, “The facility is warm and inviting. Just walking in, you feel the positive energy and the cooperative environment. There is no doubt that great things are going on in this space.”

As two like-minded organizations, CHSAA and Make-A-Wish Colorado look forward to working together to help share so many of the great things happening in Colorado schools.

“Many schools are looking for opportunities to create cooperative events and grow their student leaders; this is a great way to do that, with the support of an amazing organization behind you,” Davis said.

Assistant Commissioner Jenn Robert-Uhlig sees the relationship between Make-A-Wish Colorado and CHSAA as “a great opportunity for both organizations to continue to be impactful.”

Roberts-Uhlig went on to say, “We are both working toward elevating students, building positive culture in school communities, and helping our schools find opportunities to be impactful. I am looking forward to our relationship.”
