CHSAA Seeding Index to Provide Frequently Updated Rankings

AURORA – In lieu of weekly coaches polls for team sports, the Colorado High School Activities Association is focusing its efforts on publicizing its Seedings Index this year.

The CHSAA Seeding Index is one of the main tools used to determine qualification and postseason seedings for all team sports. Unlike coaches polls, the rankings can be updated hourly, ultimately giving teams, coaches, schools and fans a better understanding of where a team ranks throughout the season, especially in the lead up to the postseason.

In order to qualify for the CHSAA Postseason Seeding Index, teams must meet a minimum number of games played. Games and minimums are determined by MaxPreps and vary by sport and time of the season. With that, the Seedings Index will not be available at the start of every season. The rankings will be published once teams get deeper into their seasons (approximately 3-5 weeks into a particular season).

When ready, a Seedings Index will be made available for the following fall sports: Field Hockey, Football, Boys Soccer, Softball and Volleyball. For the winter, there will be a Seedings Index for Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball and Ice Hockey, and in the spring, Baseball, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Soccer and Boys Volleyball.  All live data can be found on the CHSAA Selection & Seeding Index website.
