AURORA – The 2023 Gymnastics regional competition will take place at Overland, Mountain Range and Arvada West on Oct. 26-28. The Overland regional is Oct. 26, the Mountain Range regional is Oct. 27, and the Arvada West regional is Oct. 28.
Regional ticket prices are $10 (General Admission) and $7 (Students K-12 & Seniors 60+)
At regionals, teams will compete to qualify for the state championships. Qualifying is different for teams and individuals at each classification. Below is a breakdown of who’s competing at each regional and the different scenarios for qualification. The three regional rotations are also available.
A presentation of awards will take place immediately following all competition.
Overland Regional
Date: Thursday, Oct. 26.
Location: Overland High School, Aurora.
Opening Ceremony: 3:50 p.m.
Start Time: 4 p.m.
Teams Competing: Bear Creek, Canon City, Evergreen, Lakewood, Overland, Ponderosa, Poudre School District, Pueblo Central, Rock Canyon, Standley Lake.
Mountain Range Regional
Date: Friday, Oct. 27.
Location: Mountain Range High School, Westminster.
Opening Ceremony: 3 p.m.
Start Time: 3 p.m.
Teams Competing: Chatfield, Cherry Creek, Columbine, Denver South, Elizabeth, Loveland, Mountain Range, Northfield, Palmer Ridge, Thornton.
Arvada West Regional
Date: Saturday, Oct. 28.
Location: Arvada West High School, Arvada.
Opening Ceremony: 9:50 a.m.
Start Time: 10 a.m.
Teams Competing: Alamosa, Arvada West, Broomfield, Denver East, Fort Morgan, Green Mountain, Heritage, Lone Star, Niwot, Pomona, Roosevelt.
How To Qualify For State Championships
- 4A Teams: Nine teams will qualify to compete at the state championships. The top team score in each of the three regionals will automatically qualify. The final six spots for qualification will be awarded to the next six best team scores, regardless of regional.
- 4A Individuals: The top three individuals in each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final nine spots for qualification will be awarded to the top nine individuals in each event, regardless of regional (18 total spots).
- 5A Teams: 10 teams will qualify to compete at the state championships. The top team score in each of the three regionals will automatically qualify. The final seven spots for qualification will be awarded to the next seven best team scores, regardless of regional.
- 5A Individuals: The top two individuals on each event from each regional, who aren’t included on a state qualifying team, will automatically qualify. The final six spots for qualification will be awarded to the top six individuals in each event, regardless of regional (12 total spots).
