2A Boys Soccer: Bishop Machebeuf Advances To First State Title Game To Face Three-Time Champ Crested Butte

AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association completed the semifinal round of its 2023 2A Boys Soccer State Championship Tournament at DPS All-City Stadium on Saturday. The State Championship Game will be played on Nov. 11 at Switchbacks Weidner Field, and tickets are already available for purchase on SeatGeek.

No. 4 seed Bishop Machebeuf advanced to the semifinals by defeating No. 8 seed Telluride 6-0 in the first match of the day to advance to the first State Championship Game in the history of the program.

Their opponent in the championship game will be No. 6 seed Crested Butte. The Titans punched their ticket to the finals by outscoring No. 8 seed Denver Christian 4-3 on penalty kicks. The two teams tied 0-0 through regulation and the two overtimes.

Crested Butte has reached the 2A State Championship three times — all in the past five years — and have emerged victorious every single time. Bishop Machebeuf will look to break that streak on Nov. 11.
