AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association is excited to announce the hiring of Marisa Tenorio as Coordinator of Activities. Tenorio will work with Assistant Commissioner Rashaan Davis on esports, music, speech and debate, student leadership and the CHSAA Hall of Fame.
“Marisa has been an exceptional intern in the office, and I am thrilled to welcome her to the CHSAA staff in a full-time capacity,” Davis said. “The music, speech & debate, student leadership, and esports communities will be among the first to benefit from Marisa’s dedication to CHSAA’s success. Her commitment to both students and administrators has demonstrated her potential to excel as the Coordinator of Activities. Marisa’s strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and effective communication skills will serve her well in this role. I look forward to Marisa collaborating with our activities committees and furthering our mission to elevate their work while fostering student voice through our state representatives.”
Tenorio most recently served as an 2023-24 intern for CHSAA where she had the opportunity to work over 30 CHSAA events this past academic year, including multiple state championships and various music festivals. Through the Sports Management Internship Program, she assisted the office with all aspects of organizing, planning and hosting of fall, winter and spring state championship events, in addition to other events and conferences hosted by CHSAA.
Bilingual in both Spanish and English, Tenorio graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May with her bachelors in sports management. A member of MSU Denver’s Sport Management Club, she also spent the Fall 2023 semester working with Sportswomen of Colorado, where she organized satellite clinics for women’s college teams to visit local elementary schools and host a sports clinic during the PE classes.
Formerly a guest relations team member with Empower Field SMC, Tenorio has also spent time with the Colorado Golf Association and has volunteered at events such as MSU Denver’s Women in Sport Management Panel, MSU Denver’s Day of Giving E-Sports Tournament and the Sportswomen of Colorado’s 49th Annual Awards Celebration.
