CHSAA Speech and Debate Coaches Conference on Aug 23-24

AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) will be hosting its Colorado Speech and Debate Coaches Conference on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24 at Cherry Creek High School. This year’s theme will be Teaching, Coaching and Collaborating for Success.

All registration is handled online. The conference fee is $20 per participant and participation is open to any/all speech and debate coaches in the state of Colorado. If you’ve not yet registered, be sure to do so now.

This conference is designed to provide training, to allow for the sharing of curriculum and materials, and to encourage discussion among new and returning coaches. Friday’s schedule is focused on providing new (or newer) coaches the curriculum, training and information they need for the year, while Saturday’s session is features a wide variety of sessions designed to meet the news of new and experienced coaches. Participants will have the opportunity to choose which sessions they attend throughout the day.

Additionally, a coaches social will be held off site on Friday and the all-state coaches meeting will be on Saturday. To recommend agenda items/topics to be discussed at the State of the State Coaches Meeting, please submit ideas on this State of the State Agenda Items form.

Coaches are encouraged to bring pen and paper and/or your laptops for notes and thoughts, and to download/print a copy of the CHSAA Speech and Debate handbook in advance (copies will NOT be available on site).
