AURORA — The semifinal matchups for the 2A girls soccer state tournament are set following Wednesday’s quarterfinals.
No. 8 defending state champion Flatirons Academy knocked off No. 1 Denver Christian in penalty kicks after the teams played to a 1-1 draw through two overtimes. No. 10 Forge Christian beat No. 2 Buena Vista 1-0, and No. 6 Loveland Classical outscored No. 3 Colorado Springs Christian 5-4.
No. 4 Crested Butte is the highest seed remaining after beating No. 5 Frontier Academy 5-1.
The 2A semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, at Denver’s DPS All-City Stadium, with game times at noon and 2:30 p.m.
All semifinal games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network.

In the semifinals, Crested Butte plays Flatirons Academy, while Loveland Classical faces Forge Christian.
Teams are charting a course towards the May 21 championship game, to be played at 5 p.m. at Switchbacks Weidner Field in Colorado Springs.
