Boys cross country state championships: TCA’s Mason Norman escapes his brother’s shadow

With a win in the 3A boys cross country state meet, The Classical Academy’s Mason Norman escaped the shadow of his older brother.

Four new teams cracked into this week’s CHSAANow.com volleyball rankings: Chaparral (5A), Evergreen (4A), Wiggins (2A) and Belleview Christian (1A).

Evergreen (4A), Valley (3A), Wiggins (2A) and Union Colony (2A) are all newcomers to this week’s volleyball rankings.

Five new teams joined the volleyball rankings this week: Windsor (4A), Centauri (3A), Coal Ridge (3A), Haxtun (2A) and Eads (1A).

Wiggins (2A), Dolores (2A), Bennett (3A), Evergreen (4A) and Rocky Mountain (5A) have each joined the volleyball rankings this week.

Yuma volleyball moved up to the No. 1 spot in Class 2A volleyball on Monday. On Friday, the team held up to its ranking.

Castle View (in Class 5A) and Yuma (in 2A) are new No. 1 teams in this week’s volleyball rankings.

Fruita Monument jumped into the Class 5A volleyball rankings this week, arriving at No. 10.

Skyview football is off to its best start in six seasons following a win over Weld Central on Saturday.
