Northridge has hired Erin Haussermann to be its next volleyball coach.
Haussermann comes to Northridge from Mead, where was an assistant last season. She has also coached club volleyball in Northern Colorado and Colorado Springs for a number of years.
Haussermann played college volleyball at Nebraska-Kearney, and is a member of the school’s Hall of Fame. She holds the school record for most kills in a season, and a career, and was a three-time All-American.
In 2005, she was named the RMAC Player of the Year, and the National Player of the Year.
Northridge, which plays in Class 4A, finished last season 7-16.
Jeremy Hayden has been hired as the next football coach at Northridge, making a move from nearby Northern Colorado.
Grizzlies athletic director Chris Cline announced the news on Friday.
“We are very excited to have someone with Jeremy’s passion, knowledge, and commitment to student-athletes,” Cline said.
Hayden has spent the past seven seasons on the staff at the University of Northern Colorado, his alma mater, most recently serving as the program’s tight ends and assistant offensive line coach. Hayden started at UNC as a graduate assistant in 2012, and has also previously been UNC’s running backs coach.
The move to Northridge marks a return to the high school level for Hayden. From 2002-12, he was a positions coach at the prep level, including time at Daypsring Christian (2002-06), Windsor (2006-07), and Greeley West (2007-11).

Player of the year: Laurin Krings, Loveland Coach of the year: Kristen Shirk, Legend
There were three individual champions out of the Southern Region of Class 5A boys golf on Wednesday after a massive thunderstorm caused the cancellation of a playoff.
Arapahoe’s Jack Tickle and Riley Rottschaefer, and Liberty’s Brandon Bervig all finished their rounds at 1-under. The region was in a lightning delay, and further bad weather forced the decision to not play a playoff. As a result, Tickle, Rottschaefer and Bervig were each named individual medalists.
Arapahoe captured the team championship in the region, finishing at 3-over as a group. Liberty was second at 10-over.
In 4A Region 3, held at the Olde Course in Loveland, TJ Shehee became the first golfer from Mead to win a region championship. Shehee was 1-under. Evergreen’s Nolan Miller placed second at 1-over.
“The course was playing pretty tough because it had punched greens and that made it hard to putt,” Shehee told BoCoPreps.com. “I missed a few short putts but I didn’t get mad and let it ruin my round. I just tried to hit it well all day and give myself opportunities. It means a lot to me to win because I haven’t played well at regionals before.”
Miller’s performance helped lead the Cougars to a win as a team in the region. They were 17-over. Northridge was second at 22-over.
Loveland (in 5A) and Holy Family (4A) have taken over atop their respective softball rankings this week.
The rankings, voted upon by coaches and select media members, are the official polls of the Association. Polls are released each Monday during the regular season.
Voted upon by coaches and select media members around the state. New voters can sign up by emailing rcasey@chsaa.org. These rankings have no bearing on postseason seeding.
