INDIANAPOLIS, IN (January 24, 2023) — More than 75 leaders from about 50 sports organizations will converge in downtown Indianapolis January 26-28 during the NFHS Officials Consortium 2.0 at the Conrad Hotel to continue tackling a nationwide shortage of sports officials.
With the 2022-23 high school basketball season in full swing, we have, unfortunately, continued to see reports of unacceptable behavior similar to events this fall – individuals yelling insults and obscenities at officials, and fans tracking down officials after games. A new year, but the same ongoing problems with fan behavior in high school sports.

INDIANAPOLIS — The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) will award NFHS Citations to eight high school athletic directors December 12 in Nashville, Tennessee, during luncheon festivities at the 53rd annual National Athletic Directors Conference sponsored jointly by the NFHS and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
The 53rd National Athletic Directors Conference (NADC) will be held Friday through Tuesday (December 9-13) at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

This unacceptable behavior is driving away men and women from serving as officials and threatening the future of high school sports in our country. Very simply, this unsportsmanlike behavior must stop – Enough is Enough.
