The following is Riddell’s response to address aftermarket accessories and NOCSAE certification.

Participation in high school sports increased for the 24th consecutive year in 2012-13 and passed the 7.7 million mark for the first time.

One million concussion courses have now been taken by coaches and other individuals since the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed the online course in May 2010.

Major changes in substitution procedures in high school boys lacrosse will take effect with the 2014 season. For stoppages of play due to an out-of-bounds ball, a horn will no longer be sounded to allow time for substitution. Instead, players may substitute “on the fly” as they can during normal play.

In an organizational meeting yesterday, representatives of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and PlayOn! Sports (PlayOn) completed all legal and financial arrangements to officially start the NFHS Network.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has partnered with USA Football to advance high school football player safety on a national level by endorsing USA Football’s Heads Up FootballSM program.

The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) is one of 28 members of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) that has joined the NFHS Network, the new all-digital network devoted to coverage of high school sports and performing arts through the Internet at www.NFHSnetwork.com.
