It only took 27 seconds for Simeon Woldeyohannes to make his mark on Saturday’s Class 3A boys soccer state championship game.

Less than eight minutes into the Class 2A state championship game at Weidner Field, the Vail Mountain boys soccer team found itself in a familiar position.

Four teams entered the University of Northern Colorado’s Jackson Field for the Class 4A boys soccer state semifinals but only two left with their seasons intact: No. 2 Northfield and No. 16 Battle Mountain. 

The semifinals are all done and the championship matches are set in the Class 3A boys soccer tournament.
