After tying for the team championship under the old point system in 2021, the Kent Denver and Cheyenne Mountain boys tennis teams had a score to settle in 2022.
Individual champions were crowned on the final day of the 5A boys tennis individual championships Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15, at Denver’s City Park.
When Kent Denver’s Nathan Gold won the Class 4A No. 1 singles title as a freshman in 2021, the young tennis player set himself up to potentially accomplish the rare feat of winning four No. 1 singles titles in one high school career.
With a separate tournament to decide the team championship for the first time, the sole focus at this year’s tournament will be on each individual championship match.
At the conclusion of day two of the 2022 5A boys tennis championships, five of the seven lines have familiar foes playing the finals.
