AURORA – Haxtun, defending CHSAA state champions in 8-man football, opening the 2025 season by avenging their only loss from 2024, defending New Mexico state champion Melrose in impressive fashion, winning 46-0.
Aurora – Coach Levi Kramer cemented himself as a Wray legend after winning the CHSAA 1A State Football Championship. This is the first time since 1993 that the Eagles have won the title, as they last did so when Kramer was the starting quarterback for the 1993 state championship team.
The Denver Broncos, in partnership with the Colorado High School Activities Association, will honor a High School Coach of the Week for both flag football and tackle football during the regular season for both sports this year. At the end of the season, a coach of the year will be selected for both sports.
AURORA – Lutheran High School is sitting at 8-1, with only one game remaining in the regular season. Coach Stephen Robbins has had a lot of success over the past several years with the Lions. He hasn’t had a losing season since 2019 and has only lost eight games in the last four seasons.
Woodland Park is coming off a season in which it went just 3-6. Coming into this season, the Panthers returned much of their players from that 3-6 squad. But, things look much different this year, as coach Chad Drummond has his team 8-0, with one final game remaining in the regular season.
AURORA – Brett Mertens and his squad are off to an 8-0 start for the first time since 2021. A big reason for that is the Red Hawks’ offense, which has put up more than 30 points in all eight games.
AURORA – Basalt’s football head coach Carl Frerichs has been named the Broncos Coach of the Week for tackle football.
AURORA – Josh Gardner has been the longtime coach at Mancos. He originally moved there to get away from the cities and enjoy the outdoors. What took him a little bit to realize, is that he would be coaching eight-man football, instead of the traditional 11-man he was used to.
