Alamosa’s Halle Phares received enough votes from the classification’s coaches to receive second-team honors in Class 2A. The senior kicker is believed to be the first female athlete to be voted onto a CHSAA all-state team for football.
At the start of the 2021 season, Broomfield High School alumnus Ty Davies wasn’t sure his Fort Morgan boys had what it took to rise to the top of Class 3A football. Earlier this month, they proved their head coach wrong when they stole the state championship from Mead with a 21-17 finish.
