Boys golf roundup: Brayden Lambrecht powers Sterling to win

Sterling’s Brayden Lambrecht and Discovery Canyon’s Luke Trujillo grabbed wins Tuesday at their respective boys golf tournaments.

Raleigh Basart led No. 7 Mountain View softball to a 9-4 upset win against No. 3 Silver Creek.

Pomona grabs 1-goal victory over Wheat Ridge in boys soccer action at the NAAC.

Fossil Ridge field hockey put an end to a 50-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Liberty on Monday.

Cripple Creek-Victor and Deer Trail had their football game delayed and later suspended by lightning last Saturday. They’ll resume it on Oct. 9.

Holy Family (in Class 3A), Bennett (1A) and Stratton/Liberty (6-man) have all moved up to No. 1 spots in their respective football rankings.

Fruita Monument jumped into the Class 5A volleyball rankings this week, arriving at No. 10.

There are two new teams in each classification of the boys soccer rankings this week.

This week’s softball rankings saw Legend and Columbine (5A), as well as Discovery Canyon and Thomas Jefferson (4A) join the polls.

There wasn’t any movement in this week’s field hockey rankings, with all five teams staying put from last week.
