Aspen won the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 3A boys golf region 4 regional, shooting 13-over 229, while Basalt finished as runner-up, shooting 17-over 233.
At the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2A boys golf region 4 regional, the two schools from Vail emerged with the two championships. Vail Mountain (36-over 252) earned the team title, and Vail Christian (47-over 263) finished as runner-up. Meanwhile, Vail Christian’s Sam Casey (1-over 73) won the individual title, and Vail Mountain’s Weston Roach and Oliver Kullberger finished tied for second (11-over 83).
CENTENNIAL – Regis Jesuit senior Sam Walker shot an impressive 6-under 66 at South Suburban Golf Course on Monday to claim medalist honors at the 5A Boys Golf Central Regional. On the team side, Fossil Ridge came away with the team title, combining for a 1-under 215 for the day.
At the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2A boys golf region 3 regional, Sterling (22-over 238) won the team championship, while Frontier Academy freshman Isaiah Fowler (2-over 74) claimed the individual championship.
AURORA – Only one stroke separated senior David Thomson and sophomore Collen Todd on the individual leaderboard of the 2A Region 2 Boys Golf Regional, as Thomson came away with medalist honors and the duo led Golden View Classical Academy to the team title Monday at Commonground Golf Course.
At the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2A boys golf region 1 regional, Monte Vista ran away with the team championship thanks, in part, to placing three golfers among the top-five individual finishers, which helped the Pirates score 12-over 225 as a team.
At the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 4A boys golf region 3 regional, Kellen Ball, a senior for the Windsor Wizards, thrived on the local course — shooting 1-under 71 to win the individual regional championship — but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Monarch Coyotes (17-over 233) to claim the team championship.
Host school Montezuma Cortez reigned supreme at the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 3A boys golf region 1 regional, as the captured first place on both the team and individual leaderboards.
The 3A boys golf regional championships started Monday, with three of the four regionals in the class being completed. At today’s region 2 regional, the top two teams and top 13 golfers all cliched their spot in next week’s boys golf state championships.
