ARVADA — Lightning and rain proved to be the 1-2 punch that didn’t allow Broomfield and Ralston Valley to compete their softball season-opener Wednesday.

AURORA – With today being the first day of practice for softball, the Colorado High School Activities Association is now publishing its preseason coaches polls for all of its softball classifications.

Sadie Ross, a senior at Eaton, has been named Colorado’s Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, it was announced on Friday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Beginning next year, pitchers in high school softball will be allowed to disengage both feet from the playing surface if the pivot foot is not replanted prior to the delivery of the pitch. Previously, the pivot foot was required to remain in contact with the ground.

The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) has released the 2023 All-State Softball Teams, in addition to the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.
