FORT COLLINS – Everything went wrong for Cherry Creek, until it didn’t. 

Although the Bruins beat Legend 13-10 in the 5A CHSAA State Championship game, things didn’t look too promising early. 

FORT COLLINS — Just as it looked like Montrose would score a game-tying touchdown in the final two minutes of the Class 4A state title game, Broomfield senior strong safety Gio Toledo flew through the air at Canvas Stadium to take it all away from the second-seeded Red Hawks.
 

PUEBLO & FORT COLLINS – Four Colorado High School Activities Association state champions in football were crowned on the first weekend (Nov. 29-30) of the football state championships at Dutch Clark Stadium in Pueblo, while the additional three were played at CSU’s Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins on Saturday, Dec. 7.
 

FORT COLLINS – Clichès win championships. 

The 3A State Championship, an undefeated season and the first title in Thompson Valley school history boiled down to one final play. The Thompson Valley defense versus the Mead offense. 

CHICAGO — In its 40th year of honoring the nation’s most elite high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Austyn Modrzewski of Mountain Vista High School is the 2024-25 Gatorade Colorado Football Player of the Year. Modrzewski is the first Gatorade Colorado Football Player of the Year to be chosen from Mountain Vista High School.
