The CHSAA Board of Directors voted unanimously this past weekend to approve a modification to how the MaxPreps and RPI rankings are combined to form the CHSAA Seeding Index.
The 2023-24 bylaws for the Colorado High School Activities Association went into effect as of July 1.
Over the course of the last three days, the Colorado High School Activities Association had 12 former baseball players drafted by Major League Baseball in the 2023 MLB Draft. The 12 individual draftees mark the most for CHSAA since 2018, with the four players selected straight out of high marking the most Colorado high school seniors drafted since 2017.
INDIANAPOLIS – The use of a one-way communication device between a coach in the dugout and a team’s catcher for the purposes of calling pitches will be permitted in high school baseball beginning in 2024.
AURORA – Eaton High School shortstop Walker Martin was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the second round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft Sunday night. The 52nd pick overall, Martin becomes the 10th-highest pick straight out of a Colorado high school in state history, and the highest since the Baltimore Orioles took Cherry Creek outfielder Darnell McDonald at No. 26 in 1997.

PUEBLO — Despite a venue change and playing five hours later than originally scheduled, Severance and Golden both came to play in the Class 4A state baseball championship game Saturday at Rawlings Field on the campus at CSU-Pueblo.
