Peyton Sommers did a lot of heavy lifting and the Cherokee Trail boys track team took care of business it had all season to win the Class 5A boys state championship Saturday at Jefferson County Stadium.
Valor Christian and Grandview came into the final event of the Class 5A girls state track meet with the shine of a the state championship trophy on the line.

LAKEWOOD – All 10 team state champions were crowned on the final day of the 2023 track and field state championships Saturday afternoon at Jeffco Stadium. In total 140 individuals and 45 relay teams were recognized as individual champions over the course of the three days.
