PARKER – There was very little drama in the chase for the team championship at the Class 5A girls state golf tournament, but plenty in the race for medalist.

ASPEN – It wasn’t as if Maddy Bante needed to sink a 20-foot putt to defend her title Wednesday afternoon at Aspen Golf Club.

The first round of the 2023 Colorado High School Activities Association girls golf championship has concluded and pairings for tomorrow’s Round 2 have been set. 

AURORA – The 2023 Colorado State High School Activities Association will host the girls golf state championships on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 30-31. The 3A state tournament will be contested at the Aspen Golf Club in Aspen, the 4A state championship at Thorncreek Golf Course in Thornton and the 5A at Black Bear Golf Club in Parker.

The Colorado High School Activities Association announced a multi-year partnership on Tuesday with Wanamaker Corporation, creator of the CHSAA Golf app and iWanamaker golf event management software.

For nearly every stroke of the 2022 Class 5A girls golf state championships, Loveland’s Katelyn Lehigh was a defending champion chasing a surprising state finals rookie amidst a tight pack of contenders.

BROOMFIELD – A year ago, St. Mary’s Academy’s Maddy Bante was in the same exact position, holding a lead heading into day two of the 3A girls golf tournament.

Erie ruled Tiara Rado as Hadley Ashton won the individual title and the Tigers claimed the team Class 4A girls golf state championship.
