The finalized qualitiers for the 2024 Track and Field State Championships have been announced. Heat sheets will be available Tuesday afternoon.

The Colorado High School Activities Association’s 2024 Girls and Boys Track and Field State Championships will be held Thursday though Saturday, May 16-18, at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD — There was defintely some extra interest during the boys shot put and discus events at the Class 5A/4A Jeffco League track and field championships last week at Jeffco Stadium.

Earlier this month, De Beque Junior/Senior High School’s Scottie Vines Jr. broke the state’s fifth-oldest track and field record and the third-oldest boys track and field record, with a 7-foot-4.25 high jump that qualified him for this summer’s Olympic Trials.

CHICAGO — In its 38th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Emma Stutzman of Pomona High School is the 2022-23 Gatorade Colorado Girls Track & Field Player of the Year. Stutzman is the first Gatorade Colorado Girls Track & Field Player of the Year to be chosen from Pomona High School. 

CHICAGO — In its 38th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Tavon Underwood of Mead High School is the 2022-23 Gatorade Colorado Boys Track & Field Player of the Year. Underwood is the first Gatorade Colorado Boys Track & Field Player of the Year to be chosen from Mead High School.  

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – In an effort to more clearly define false starts in high school track and field events, two new starting violations have been adopted for the 2024 season.
