The 2024 all-state baseball teams honor the best players in the sport as judged by the leagues and coaches.

From Peyton Manning and John Elway to Ray Bourke, the Mile High City has a history of seeing its sporting superstars ride off into the sunset with a championship trophy in tow. Now, Marc Johnson, Cherry Creek’s legendary baseball coach, will join that club.

Trey Gregory-Alford, a senior at Coronado, has been named Colorado’s Gatorade Player of the Year, it was announced on Monday.

AURORA – All five of the Colorado High School Activities Association’s baseball state champions have been crowned.

Cherry Creek avenged its 3-0 semifinal round loss to Regis Jesuit in stellar fashion to send legendary head coach Marc Johnson off into the sunset with his ninth state championship title, at All-Star Park in Lakewood.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Holy Family head coach Marc Cowell was a bit difficult to find following the Tigers’ 13-6 triumph over Pueblo County. While the team members were frolicking in left field between congratulatory hugs, taking pictures, and hoisting the trophy, Cowell quietly slipped 30 or 40 meters away, identifiable only to those who already knew him. He was busily engaged in the kind of conversations with parents that rarely happen under normal circumstances.

The matchups for the final round of the 2024 Baseball State Championships for 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A are now set, with the championship game(s) being played tomorrow at four sites across the state.

The brackets for the Colorado High School Activities Association’s Baseball State Championships have been released. Tournament play began on Friday, May 24 and will run through the state championship games on June 1. Brackets, qualifiers and round-by-round results can be found here.
