DENVER — Senior Daniel Cardenas passed up every great wrestler that has ever put on a Pomona singlet on Saturday night.

DENVER — The battle to the Class 5A wrestling team title was a two-team race Saturday at Ball Arena.

DENVER – When the 138-pound class hit the mats Saturday night at the 2022 wrestling championships at Ball Arena, most of the attention was focused on Mat 3, where Woodland Park senior Brady Hankin was looking to become the 30th four-time champion in state history.

Pueblo East won two individual championships and walked away with the team title at teh 2022 Class 4A boys wrestling tournament at Ball Arena.

DENVER – Cherokee Trail’s Derek Glenn Jr. is looking for a little redemption at the 2022 state wrestling tournament, and in the process is looking to make a little program history.

Cheyenne Mountain and Pueblo East are set for a race to the team championship heading into the final day of the 4A boys wrestling state tournament at Ball Arena.

Mullen’s Dale O’Blia did not lose a match as a freshman and is currently unbeaten as a sophomore through two days at the 2022 wrestling state championships.

If he wanted to win a state championship at this year’s state tournament, Dolores Huerta wrestler Daniel Apodaca knew he would likely have to beat two defending state champions along the way.

Though 2021-22 constitutes only the second season in which girls wrestling has operated as a sanctioned high school sport in Colorado, the 118-pound female bracket at CHSAA’s girls wrestling state championships featured a rarity practically never found within the sport.
