Photos: Mountain Vista hockey staves off Air Academy’s rally

LITTLETON — Latrell Harris scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 5:29 remaining to lift No. 2 Mountain Vista hockey to a 5-4 win over No. 7 Air Academy on Monday.

Harris’ tally came on the power play, off assists from captain Bryan Hancock and Kaden Stewart. It helped stave off a furious rally from the Kadets, who trailed 4-1 midway through the second period.

Air Academy scored three-straight goals to make it 4-4 nine minutes into the final period, but Harris scored two minutes after that.

Hancock had a goal and two assists for Mountain Vista, while Jordan Cox scored two goals. Reid Goodman had three assists.

Travis Work, Luke Ciolli and Sam Thrutchley each had a goal and an assist for Air Academy.

Tanner Munn made 25 saves on 29 shots in the win for Mountain Vista. Air Academy’s Jason Stolz also made 25 saves.
