CHICAGO — In its 38th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Kate Runyon of Jefferson Academy is the 2022-23 Gatorade Colorado Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Runyon is the first Gatorade Colorado Girls Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Jefferson Academy.
The 2023 all-state baseball teams honor the best players in the sport as judged by the leagues and coaches.
AURORA – The Colorado High School Activities Association has announced the addition of Amanda McClure as Director of Communications.
Joseph Capra, a four-sport athlete who has been at the top of his game both in the athletic arena and in the classroom has stepped to the head of the class. “Cap” as he is known around campus has been a leader and standout for both the Denver South Ravens and the Denver East Angels. Excelling in football, hockey, track and lacrosse, Capra has demonstrated all the qualities representative of the prestigious Freddie Steinmark Award.
Mason Rowland is a true all-around student athlete who is the complete package. Mason is a three-sport All-State athlete for the Durango Demons and has been exceptional in volleyball, basketball and soccer throughout her decorated career. Mason was enjoying a much-needed break vacationing with her family in Hawaii when learning the news of her selection.

Gerber is the second Gatorade Colorado Boys Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Boulder High School.

You may have noticed an unfamiliar face throwing out the first pitch at Saturday’s 5A baseball championship between Valor Christian and Cherokee Trail at All-Star Park in Lakewood.
AURORA – The 3A baseball tournament championship game between No. 1 seed Eaton and No. 2 seed University was put into a weather delay in the middle of the second inning on Saturday due to heavy rain. The game will resume at the top of the second inning with University up, 2-1.
