MONTROSE — Montrose girls basketball won the Alpine Bank Black Canyon Classic with a 42-11 win over Palisade in the final on Saturday.
The team is now 8-1 this season.
“Really happy with how we came out and played today,” Montrose coach Steve Skiff said. “Our effort on defense was outstanding and led to easy offense.”
Kennadie Minerich scored 11 points, Allie Nichols had ten and Morgan Carroll scored six.
Montrose jumped out to a 12-1 lead after the first quarter. They pushed that lead to 23-1 at halftime, and were up 38-4 after three quarters.
