AURORA — The regional volleyball brackets in all five classes were released by CHSAA on Monday afternoon.

• Class 5A
• Class 4A
• Class 3A
• Class 2A
• Class 1A

The regionals will determine who advances to the state tournament next week. In 2A through 5A, there are 12 regions, with each regional winner advancing. Those brackets are seeded based upon the final RPI standings of the regular season.

The 1A regionals are paired based upon the results of the districts completed last week. There are eight regions in that class, and the eight winners of those regions will automatically qualify for the state tournament. An additional four at-large teams will be selected using the RPI standings after regionals are completed.

The state tournaments will use a new double-elimination Olympic crossover bracket this season, moving to the format instead of the old pool play format. The state tournament will now be a three-day event, starting on Nov. 8, and completing on Nov. 10.

Order of play at each regional: Team 1 vs. Team 3, Team 2 vs. Team 3, Team 1 vs. Team 2.

All regional winners earn automatic berths to the state tournament.

Rampart (4A) and Mead (3A) have each joined this week’s football rankings.

The rankings, voted upon by coaches and select media members, are the official polls of the Association. Polls are released each Monday.

Complete rankings for classes 4A and 3A are below. Classes 5A, 2A, 1A, 8-man and 6-man are into their postseason.
